This brave mom shared how she took control of her health, dealt with postpartum depression and post-traumatic stress disorder, and achieved her weight loss goals.

After the birth of her daughter, Jacobi suffered from postpartum depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.
“I didn’t know how to deal with how I was feeling after my daughter was born,” Says.
“What I was eating didn’t help me feel better, even though I thought it was. Chocolate was my downfall. If I ever got frustrated, I’d look for sugary desserts. I’ve also been dealing with my weight my whole life.”
“I will lose weight and then gain it after six months.”
She says it all seemed like a struggle – even walking the dog felt too much effort.
But then she saw an ad on Facebook for healthy mummy.
“I looked at the page and started following the stories and seeing the results and how amazing everyone was supporting,” Says.
“I decided it was something I wanted to try. I felt like I hit rock bottom. But I wanted to take it slow. I didn’t want to jump, because I felt like I was going to fail.”
That’s what Jacoby did in the beginning. I ate the recipes on 28 days of weight loss challengebut that was all I did.
“I didn’t do any exercises on the app at first. In the place where I got too big, I had bad foot spurs and torn ligaments, so I decided to take it slow,” recognize.
“I walked for 15 minutes with my dog every day. It was all I could do.”
In the first month, Jacobi lost 5 kg. Then she noticed the weight was slowly dropping, and she found strength and energy – as well as a positive mental attitude.
“I drank more water, as I had severe migraines after reducing sugar,” recognize.
“I’ve also found that I’m starting to enjoy working out—something I’ve found to be a chore before.”
Now, Jacoby says she’s a huge gym addict — she takes boxing lessons, trains at 5.30 a.m. every morning, and works out her strength in the gym.
“I love exercising now,” Says. “Before, I was lazy, but now I get up at 5.30pm and see my personal trainer.”
“My mind and health are much more important than sleeping indoors.”
