Wowsers, Kelly Joyce’s photos are so inspiring! This mum lost 9.3 kg and 70 cm in 13 weeks by following The Healthy Mummy’s 28 day weight loss challenge.
In fact, the 33-year-old mother of two has dropped her size from 18 to a size 12!
How Kelly Lost Less Than 10kg In Just 13 Weeks!
Since she was a teen, Kelly says she’s had a problem with her weight.
“I’ve been overweight my whole life and have been on a yo-yo diet,” Says. “I started my first weight loss program at age 15 only because I was convinced I was fat. During my twenties, my self-esteem hit rock bottom with weight coming in and I shy away from 100kg at a size 18.
“I’ve lost a lot of weight with too much exercise but I haven’t addressed my issue with food. After the kids, my weight crept in. I didn’t want to be a yo-yo mom. I wanted to be a mom who could teach my kids how to have a healthy, balanced lifestyle.”
“I wore over 30kg with my first pregnancy, then followed The Healthy Mummy for only my second weight.”
Now, Kelly says she has more energy and also feels lighter on her feet!
“My confidence is back! I no longer feel like sausage stuffed into my clothes. They are so comfortable and make me stand a little taller,” Says.
What a normal day for Kelly
breakfast: Monday – Friday a healthy mummy juice of some kind. Weekends are family time and we have bacon with eggs or vanilla and berry muffins.
lunch: It’s usually leftovers from the night before or a stash of freezer meal. Also a fan of pita pizza as a quick option.
Dinner: This is always quick and easy! With two very young children, I like simplicity and generally choose recipes from the app that can be completed in under 30 minutes or adapted to a pressure cooker.
Snacks: I generally cook a batch of cake or slices at the beginning of the week for snacks during the day. Banana sushi is the quick go too and at night we tend to eat cheese and crackers. I tend to stay away from sweet snacks because I know I don’t have any self-control.
Dinner: Anything simple, like a pistachio pork curry, asian slow cooker chicken, Carrot cake slice, banana sushi, lasagna soup, bliss balls.
exercises: I love the 10 minute workouts and kid wears the workout Health mummy application. It’s super quick and easy and means that making an excuse not to exercise is even harder.
3 tips from Kelly for success
1. Make the program work for you and your family, no one’s program will be the same.
2. Be kind to yourself and acknowledge the small changes you are making.
3. Find someone with the same goals to share your journey with, it helps keep you focused.
