Nicole’s top tips when doing bulk cooking are:
1. Be organized with what you cook, write a list of what you plan to cook and then determine what the oven, stove, microwave, etc. needs, and use all cooking methods.
2. Organize your click and collect/online order to ensure you get all the ingredients you need for the day.
3. Check the recipes to see if you need to slice or marinate the meat overnight.
4. Prepare some ingredients the day/night before to help reduce the time in the day.
5. Read the recipes and choose the recipes that you have cooked before that will reduce the preparation/cooking time.
6. Start early in the day, clean the kitchen to begin with and clean as you go! You don’t want to make yourself a mess because it will make it stressful and unpleasant, so you should definitely take breaks to wash and dry the dishes on the go.
Nicole’s top tips for keeping a budget and saving money are:
1. Cook multiple meals with similar ingredients
2. Buy meat in bulk and freeze it in 500g

“There are a lot of family friendly recipes that are very important to me as my partner and three kids also eat these meals.”
“Meal prep gives me free time all week. By discretion, I would say I have an extra three hours a week that I would have spent in the kitchen. Now I have three extra hours a week to do something with the kids or whatever for me.”
