Meat up to the second year
It’s been two years since Mark’s original carnivore diet success story, so it’s time to catch up.
The original carnivore diet success story
Meat after one year
1) How would you describe your current way of eating.
More boring than ever
I still do OMAD mostly. I mainly eat a little bit of rib eye and sometimes either eggs or maybe some shrimp with it too. If I am traveling, I will only order the meat pies. I only drink water. I use a little salt.
2) What have you learned about nutrition over the past year.
Just strengthening my belief that when people are metabolically healthy and without food addiction, you should trust your body’s cues about what, when, and how much to eat. This is perfect for me but probably not for everyone. Don’t overthink this and make it difficult.
3) What health and fitness improvements, and/or setbacks have you experienced in the past year.
Due to relapses, I nearly had my big toe amputated. I had a terrible farm accident that really hit my foot in June of 2020. In any way I had to adjust my training a lot.
For improvements, my sleep has experienced ups and downs but has steadily improved. I suffer from insomnia for life. I devoted myself to improving it to its peak. Dr. Jay Meadow’s behavior modification courses have helped me a lot.
4) What are your health and fitness goals for the next year.
To continue to improve my sleep as much as possible without any natural pills or otherwise. Also, continuing to improve my recovery in various ways like being in nature more, more cold water therapy, more swimming, more sand between my toes, and more family time.
5) Do you want to add anything else? And where can people follow your journey?
All of my autoimmune problems from rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, etc. are all in 100% remission. I feel better than ever and love this way of eating now more than ever.
