It’s been two years since the Mariela Diet’s success story, so it’s time to catch up.
The Carnivore Diet success story
Meat up to 1 year
How would you describe your current eating style.
I’m still 85-95% carnivorous. I focus on the animal kingdom and on some weekends I might enjoy a keto dessert / treat, and the occasional glass of wine and chocolate. I have noticed that I have recovered so much from eating carnivores, that I can indulge in more keto treatments and not be terrified. However, when I take it for longer periods, I notice digestion (IBS symptoms) and energy struggles. So I still feel like I prefer eating meat eaters most of the time, which for me translates into better health, energy, moods, digestion, sleep and general well-being. I usually have a coffee for breakfast with keto cream and / or heavy cream. I have some sausages and / or eggs. For lunch, I usually eat protein (steak, ground beef, chicken, etc.) with keto mayonnaise to add fat. Snacks can be pork rinds with keto mayonnaise, or a stick of meat, and dinner is similar to lunch, as I choose anything from the animal kingdom and eat it to fullness. Sometimes I have more carnivorous desserts like “flan” made with egg yolk and vanilla, a bit of monk fruit and heavy whipped cream, or “instant cheesecake” made with cream cheese with vanilla and a little monk fruit. I find creative ways to prepare carnivore recipes because this is a long-standing lifestyle for me.
What have I learned about nutrition over the past year?
I can still be pranic and love to hunt! I find more and more research supporting the ketogenic lifestyle as well as carnivores. More case studies on the right and left emerge as people cure so many diseases that it is hard to suspect this including Alzheimer’s / dementia, diabetes, heart disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, seizures, etc. Regardless of your age, the diseases and damage they have caused can be treated by eating a carnivore diet.
What are the health and fitness improvements, and / or setbacks you’ve experienced in the past year.
In the past year, I stepped up my game regarding my weight training routine. I usually exercise 4 times a week, but I still have a tide of weeks when it’s only 2. Nevertheless, I maintain consistency and can maintain my strength and physical build year-round, without being an athletic mouse, as I used to so I could focus on my kids, write, act, meditate, and connect with friends. Being active is something I love to do, I need to direct my excess energy and ground through exercise and I like to get stronger and push myself as I put new challenges for myself.
What are your health and fitness goals for the next year.
I will continue to maintain this exercise routine, as it seems to fit my lifestyle, in which I feel balanced, but effective in my personal and lifestyle lives. I am less interested in perfection, and after my first year of 100% eating meat, I feel healed so much, that I can be less than perfect, and I still enjoy and enjoy keto treatments and still be the epitome of health. I found my sweet spot for success, and while there are days when I can aim for the better, I feel that long-term consistency is even more important, as this is a total lifestyle change. I live it 100% and I am happy to be able to share my story, not only inspire, but also help others do the same.
Anything else to add? Where can people follow your journey?
This year (February 2021), she competed in the Miss Illinois International contest and got 1Street runner up. It was an exciting event! I was proud of my accomplishments, especially since I won the fitness category. I didn’t have to diet, prepare, or kill myself before the contest. I just kept doing “carnivorous things” and exercising like I usually do. The result is a fit body all year round, regardless of the occasion or event. I feel like this is the way of eating that preserves my muscles and muscles, but my body is curvy throughout the year even as I get older, I feel that I still look younger and feel younger than it is in my twenties! I get daily compliments as if I was in my late twenties! For me, that’s a great compliment because I’m running into the clock, but I definitely feel better than I’ve been feeling on my skin.
