1. Find workout lessons for beginners
You don’t have to sign up for weight classes, if you’re not prepared. Heaps of beginner classes are available. You may want to try something at a slower pace to build up your fitness to begin with.
2. A book on induction
Ask for an intro on how to use the equipment or sign up for a few sessions with a personal trainer to show you exactly how to do things in the gym.
2. Make a plan for the equipment you want to use
Look at exercise videos before you go and make a plan for exactly what you want to use and for how long. This will make you feel less clueless when you get there.
3. Have a good gym playlist
Hearing something on headphones is good focus and also a great way to get rid of any outside noises or distractions.
4. Choose a quiet time
It can get daunting when exercising at peak hours, so pick a time when it’s less busy. This could be a Friday night or the day everyone goes to work or finishes leaving school.
