How Keri lost 25.2 kg in 12 months and got rid of her psoriasis
Psoriasis is a skin disease that causes red, itchy, scaly patches that most commonly appear on the knees, elbows, trunk and scalp.
“My skin is clearer, I have psoriasis and have not had psoriasis for the past 12 months,” Keri says.
“Mentally, I am a happier person, enjoying life and making the most of every day. I no longer want to lock myself away. My thoughts are clearer and I no longer feel tired all the time.”
In fact, Keri admits that her psoriasis flare-ups can be triggered by stress and in 2020 they have flared up in a big way.
“I wasn’t nervous so I couldn’t figure out why the situation was getting worse. When I started my healthy mummy journey in early 2021, I noticed that my psoriasis was starting to recover,” she says.
I think cutting out artificial sugar and eating healthy and clean played a major role. My skin has been clear since then.
“Psoriasis can be painful with redness, itching and dry skin, cracking and bleeding were common, not to mention the embarrassment of having bright red skin irritation on your body.
“I was hiding myself away because I didn’t want anyone to see it.”
What a typical day it looks like to Keri
breakfast: healthy mummy juice
Morning tea: Coffee and a piece of fruit
lunch: healthy mummy juice
Afternoon snack: Protein and fruit ball
Dinner: recipe from health app
Evening snack: Rice crackers and dip or chocolate as a treat
Playing sports: I walk at least 5km a day so I meditate once a week and have just started using my hula hoop.
