Does anyone else shy away from beauty products that intimidate their family members?
It is such a pleasure to turn the corner in a paper mask and watch the pilot jump when he sees me.
I must also say at this point, no one is going through the stage of my weird behaviors anymore. It’s not unusual to see me wearing a charcoal face mask, sheet mask, applying Frownies at various points all over my face, or emitting a beautiful red glow when I wear my LED mask.
While I haven’t done any injections – Botox and fillers scare me. I’d never say never, but that just doesn’t work for me right now – I’ll try anything else. Gua sha, jade roller, masks, serums, facials, give me all things. It’s fun to share some of my top picks here on the blog, and today, I’m really excited to showcase something I’ve been loving and using for months now: HigherDose LED red light mask.
Red Light Mask Review from HigherDOSE
I’m a big fan of HigherDOSE (I use . files sauna blanket a few times a week and PEMF Go Mat every day) and I couldn’t wait to try out the red light mask when it was released last fall. I was stalking many brands but wasn’t ready to commit. I was glad I waited, because I knew this was going to be a great product because I love everything HighDOSE produces.
Well, how does a red light face mask work?
It includes red and near-infrared light that can help boost mood, produce collagen, heal skin, and can help reduce wrinkles and sun spots. It is non-invasive and limits low-level regeneration wavelengths found in natural sunlight. I have noticed that it has an immediate calming effect and is a mood booster, especially during the cold winter months.
My favorite benefits of this red light face mask:
– It’s wireless! I love that you can use it anywhere and not have to worry about the wire.
– You can also set a timer for 10 or 20 minutes.
Designed for active lifestyles, it has a head strap included so you can wear it while you’re walking around, reading a book, exercising or doing yoga.
You can use it anywhere you want to improve skin texture and promote healing. I’ve been a fan of the red light for years and also use it when I’m recovering from an injury. (I used the red light on my broken pinky while it was healing. Obviously talk to your doctor and don’t use it on any open wounds. mmm k?)
Tips:
Wash your face gently before using the mask. Do not use the mask while you have a lot of sunscreen, makeup, or creams on your face. It does not use UV light, so you don’t have to worry about the SPF on your face
Try it while meditating! This is one of my favorite ways to use it.
Gently clean the mask as needed using a non-toxic cleaning cloth. It is made of medical grade silicone and LED lights are attached to this.
How often should you use it?
You can use it daily or several times a week. I use it every two days before bed, or during my morning meditation.
Do you need to wear an eye protection mask with a red light mask?
– The lights are bright. It says you can read or do other things while using the mask, but I find it very bright for me to do anything other than meditate or listen to a podcast with my eyes closed (which is a nice break). I checked with a good friend, an esthetician, regarding the need to wear an eye protector while using the mask. She would recommend it. The mask comes with blackout goggles, which I use while wearing them.
Is it worth it?
Yes. I notice that my skin is smoother and I feel ingrained energy on the days I use it! I am a huge fan of infrared heat and have loved red light for years because it can reduce inflammation and improve healing. Like I said, I’m all about any non-surgical treatments at the moment, so this was a no-brainer for me.
