I have always been passionate about trying new foods, and years ago I heard about halloumi cheese, and I was keen to taste this salty cheese that can be grilled or fried. At first I couldn’t find halloumi, but one day I was walking into my favorite grocery store in my neighborhood and saw some halloumi in the cheese box, and I enjoyed trying it with my friends. Of course I’m now a longtime halloumi fan, and halloumi is widely available, so I’m updating the pictures for this Grilled Halloumi Salad To encourage you to give it a try if you’ve never cooked with halloumi!

This is a simple salad I made with halloumi, leftover grilled chicken, and some small sweet pepper slices, but the grilled halloumi is so amazing that it makes this truly unforgettable dish perfect for a light summer dinner. I used my favorite Power Greens Mix to make this salad, but you can use any greens or combination of greens you prefer.

What can you use if you don’t like Sweet Mini Peppers?

If you don’t like sweet little peppers or don’t want to buy them for your salad, you can use cherry tomatoes, peas, olives, cucumbers, radishes, or any other vegetable that fascinates you instead of a little pepper!

What if you don’t have an outdoor grill?

I grilled halloumi on my own Grill pan on stove (referral link) a few times and I encourage you to try this if you don’t have an outdoor grill. And in fact I thought it was a little easier on the grill pan on the stove!

How to make grilled halloumi salad:

  1. Mix lemon juice, Dijon, garlic, and pepper together. Then whisk the olive oil to make the sauce.
  2. Cut the chicken into small pieces and mix with a few tablespoons of the sauce.
  3. Cut off the end of the stem, pull out the seeds, and cut the young pepper into strips.
  4. I bought pre-sliced ​​halloumi, but cut it into slices if needed.
  5. Heat a gas grill or grill pan on medium heat while brushing olive oil over the halloumi cheese.
  6. Place the cheese at an angle on the grill grates and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Rotate the chops (to get cross marks) and cook a few more minutes on that side.
  8. Brush more olive oil on the top side before flipping the cheese.
  9. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the second side, or until the halloumi turns brown marks and begins to firm.
  10. Let the cheese cool while you toss the vegetables with the sauce and stir in the marinated chicken and baby pepper slices.
  11. Cut the halloumi into slices or cubes, whichever you prefer.
  12. Put the grilled halloumi pieces on top of the salad and enjoy!

Use any type of salad you like. If you don’t have any Greek seasoning (affiliate link), contains salt, garlic, lemon, oregano, pepper and marjoram.
