“It started 12 week challenge Because I was heavier and made a lot of excuses… and who wouldn’t like to be motivated to push you a little harder…
“I didn’t know…my husband was looking for his own reason to start…but he had the impression that healthy mummy was just for women! But it isn’t.”
The lovely mom says she will send her husband pictures of her progress and after two weeks, he could already see a huge difference in them – and he wanted that too!
“Beginning in the third week, he decided to go up with me, and what an amazing journey so far,” MJ says.
“He created new habits and changed his lifestyle… We have also brought us closer together. We have lost a total of 16.2 kg between us so far!
“Healthy Mummy has given us the tools to succeed. Determination, commitment, an open mind, a willingness to continue learning about our bodies and the food that nourishes us, and to break that cycle of self-sabotage.”
Matt Byrne reveals that he wanted to lose weight because he was tired all the time and lacked the energy to even kick soccer or run with the kids.
“I decided to get serious about my weight after seeing that my wife was losing weight. I knew she would be my biggest supporter and we could keep each other on the right track. So far I have lost 7.6kg in 11 weeks,” He says.
The health benefits have been enormous. I have more energy, I have stopped drinking alcohol and I have stopped smoking. I sleep better, and I don’t get up in the middle of the night for a snack…
“My advice about getting started is to want it to be bad enough. I knew this was what I had to do for myself and my family.”
When it comes to his diet, Matt says he’s a huge fan of the recipes out there Health mummy application.
“Honestly, I only eat what my wife cooks! There has never been a healthy mom meal I didn’t enjoy! If I had to pick a couple, I really enjoy Greek chicken burgers, sticky tofu and greens, and simple beef patties with mushy peas,” He says.
“My goals are to gain self-confidence, lose weight and build muscle and be a good role model for my children.”
