Sharing my copy of one of my favorite fast food meals: The Glow Bowl from Flower Child! It’s gluten-free, easy to make vegan, and with just a little prep work, it’ll be on the table in less than 20 minutes. Pin this recipe the next time you need a healthy, quick, and delicious lunch or dinner option.
Hello Hello! How is the week? I taught LIVE TRX CLASS this morning and it felt really good. It was my first class teaching in real life and man, I missed it. I think the virtual classes were a great way to stay connected through all of this, but there is something to be said about the energy of the in-person class. It gave me a much-needed reminder of how much I really love teaching.
Right now I’m working here programming Fit Team for next month (Waiting list is open If you missed it) and got a hot yoga class. Hope you have a nice day so far.
Today, I wanted to share a recipe I fantasize about love. We are huge fans of Flower Child and stop by anytime we are in Phoenix. I fell in love with the Glow Bowl a couple of years ago, and although I’ve tried quite a few other recipes, it’s still my first. It’s pretty much everything you could possibly wish for in a bowl: delicious protein, sweet potato noodles with a creamy and spicy almond butter sauce, crunchy fried vegetables, and limes on the side. I am thrilled to write this post.
I’ve craved Flower Child a few times and made this homemade version of the beloved Glow Bowl. I thought it was finally time to share the recipe here on the blog!
For this recipe, you need quite a few different veggies but the beauty of it is that you can really use any veggies on hand! It is highly customizable. Also, feel free to use any protein you like! We usually go for the grilled chicken, but it’s also great with shrimp, tofu or tempeh.
What can you use in place of sweet potato noodles?
Feel free to use zucchini noodles or any regular cooked pasta. I love sweet potato noodles because they make the recipe a little more filling and add a boost of nutrition + a dose of sweetness.
Can you use peanut butter instead of almond butter in your sauce?
Absolutely! They both taste great and the peanut butter gives them an even stronger flavour.
Can you do this in advance?
100%. Just store it covered in the refrigerator. When I heat it up the next day, I just add a wet paper towel over it before heating it in the microwave. You can also reheat it on the stove.
Please let me know if you try this recipe!

While the vegetables are cooking, make the sauce by whisking all the ingredients in a bowl.
Remove the vegetables from the heat and pour the sauce.
Serve in bowls (or store the rest to enjoy as lunches) and top with cooked protein.
Add more chutney, chopped cashews, mint and coriander with lemon slices on the side.
