This is the new recipe for Air fryer pepper and onion So easy and so good that it could become one of your favorite side dish recipes! I know some people aren’t fans of sweet peppers, but I like it Roasted pepperAnd Roasted pepper, And stuffed peppers, so I had no doubts that I would love the peppers and onions cooked in the air fryer. And when I tested this recipe with KaraWe both thought it was totally cool!
And if you don’t take the time to soak (which is completely optional), you can make the entire recipe including chopping veggies in about 20 minutes, which is great too! This is another one of those recipes where I thought Newman Classic Oil and Vinegar Dressing The one I recently introduced gave it an extra touch of flavor! Check out the instructions for grilling this in the oven if you don’t have an air fryer, and give it a try if you’re also a fan of peppers.

What air fryer did you use?
I became a huge fan of air fryer after I found out Air Fryer Roasting Oven, Cuisinart (Referral link) which is what I used for this recipe. This air fryer had a larger basket, which was large enough to make three large peppers and one large onion, but if your air fryer had a smaller basket, you might need to cut the recipe in half.

What if you don’t have an air fryer?
You can definitely cook this sausage and pepper side dish in the oven if you don’t have an air fryer. I like to cook it at 450 F / 230 C. Follow vegetable preparation instructions and stir in seasonings, then drain and spread on a large baking sheet. An air fryer cooks hotter like a convection oven, so it will take a little longer in the oven even if the temperature is higher. I’ll start by checking the oven-roasted peppers and onions after 10 minutes, and it should probably take about 15 minutes, depending on how crisp they are.
Tips for making an air fryer with peppers and onions:

- Cut the ends of the bell pepper, remove the seeds and membranes, and cut the pepper into slices.
- Peel the onion and cut it into slices the same size as the pepper.
- Put the onions and peppers in a ziplock bag (or bowl) and toss with classic Neumann’s oil, vinaigrette, and Italian herb seasoning.
- Let the vegetables marinate a bit if you have time, or immediately drain them into a colander set in the sink.
- Arrange the vegetables in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes, then stir.
- Then cook 3-4 minutes or until cooked to your liking.
- We liked the peppers and onions when they were still a bit crunchy, so adjust the cooking time according to how tender you like them.
- Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper and serve hot.

Ingredients
- 2 large red peppers
- 1 large yellow pepper (or use any colors you prefer)
- 1 large yellow onion
- 1/4 cup Newman’s Classic Oil Vinegar Dressing (or another low-sugar vinegar)
- 1 tsp. Italian herbal seasoning
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

- Cut the ends of the bell pepper, remove the seeds and membranes, and cut the pepper into slices. We made strips a little over 1/2 inch wide and tried to get them all close to the same size.
- Peel the onion, cut the ends and cut into slices the same size as the pepper.

- Let the vegetables marinate a little if you have the time, up to 30 minutes will add some flavor. But you can also drain immediately into a strainer placed in the sink.

- Cook for 4-5 minutes, then stir in the peppers and onions and distribute again.
- Then cook 3-4 minutes or until cooked to your liking.
- We liked the peppers and onions when they were still a bit crunchy, so adjust the cooking time according to how tender you like them.
- Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper and serve hot.
