2022 appears to be the year of health for Australians, as more and more people look to focus on their health.
New survey through comparison site discoverer It found that one in four Australians will attempt a new diet in 2022.
We’re not surprised that people are starting to focus on their health – it was a stressful time with too much break in eating or not being able to exercise properly after being restricted during the pandemic!

1 in 4 Australians will try a new diet in 2022
A national survey of 1,000 people found that 24% plan to try a new diet and that the 2,922 most popular diets were keto, gluten-free, and vegan.
Furthermore, another 6% will attempt a vegan diet this year. 8% will try a new diet while 7% will try two diets and 9% (1 out of 10) will try three or more meals this year only!
The younger generation, or Generation Z (born between 1997 and 2012), appears to be more interested in starting a diet, with 40% planning to go on a diet, while 4% of baby-boomers (born between 1955 and 1964) are keen on dieting. .
Generation Z is keen to become vegetarian (21%), and Generation X (born between 1965 and 1980) is more likely to follow a low-carb diet (8%).
“It’s easy to fall into bad habits when you’re busy with work or looking after the kids, so setting goals can help put things back on track,” says Kate Brown, Finder’s personal finance expert.
“It can be hard to stick to new habits, so instead of making drastic changes, try taking small steps every day. If your goal is to stop eating meat, try a meat-free day a week and get going from there.
“Changing your eating habits can be difficult, so why not see if you can get a friend or family to join you. Having a friend will keep you motivated and also help keep you accountable.”

3. Keep it handy
